I’m pleased to announce that the second short story in The Kineru Chronicles, my Christian fantasy series, is now available for download! The Goddess of Storms continues to follow Sepiron’s adventures as he seeks to cleanse the lands of Kineru from the evil that infects them. You can find it for only 99 cents on Kindle, Nook, Google Play, or Books2Read!
After crossing towering mountains and endless plains, Sepiron has finally made the long journey to the great city of Raija. He seeks only one thing: to kill the cruel goddess of lightning and storms who dominates the city. Long ago, Sepiron was tasked with slaying the false gods who plagued the lands of Kineru, and now he finally has the secrets to their immortality. With this knowledge, Sepiron seeks to finally destroy this so-called goddess.
But knowledge alone is not enough to bring him victory, and he is quickly overwhelmed by the goddess' minions. Beaten mercilessly, Sepiron is imprisoned and left for dead. But though Sepiron stands alone, he fights for a god more powerful than any other, and as long as he still draws breath, he will stop at nothing to see this false goddess defeated.
The Kineru Chronicles
This series of Christian fantasy short stories follows the adventures of Sepiron, a lone warrior tasked with slaying the cruel beings who call themselves gods. The stories follow Sepiron’s adventures as he tries to learn the false gods’ secrets, seeking to defeat evil creatures like them in order to make the world a better place.
If you haven’t read it already, The Painter is the first short story in The Kineru Chronicles, telling one of Sepiron’s first adventures. He climbs a remote mountain, where he meets an old man staring sightlessly into the sun, and tries to learn his secrets. The Painter is FREE on Kindle, Nook, Google Play, and several other sites through Books2Read!
What’s Next?
Writing stories in this thematic style has been challenging, so I’m trying to take my time to do them right. My goal is to write them in an old-fashioned style, reminiscent of ancient myths and old timey fairy tales, while still being readable to modern audiences. Basically, I want to give it that feeling of “ancient story that’s been translated into English without losing all of its flavor.” A rather vague goal, but I’m enjoying it!
The overall series has been planned out, and although I don’t have every subsequent short story plotted, I do have a few mostly figured out. (Including the final story!) I’m currently working on the second draft of the next short story in the series, which is tentatively titled Blood of Darkness, and will involve a lot more sword fighting and action. And vampires…
My lovely wife has been helping me make these covers, and I’m so grateful for her artistic skills! As I write more and she creates more covers, we should have more Kineru Chronicles stories ready to go in the coming months, so stay tuned!
And as always, thank you so much to everyone for reading my stories, and be sure to keep an eye out for more fun stories down the road!
